When archaeologists have completed an archaeological excavation they compile a report on the site based on records made during the excavation. This will contain a description of what was found and the archaeologists' interpretation of the site (what they believed it was, how it was used, who by) based on any supporting evidence they can find. Just like archaeologists after an excavation, once the children have visited the Mock Dig they will have a collection of record sheets about the site such as; The completed paper work can be used back in the classroom to write their own archaeological report on the site.
