Stories from the Deaf Community

Menu

In 2009 the Centre for the Deaf on King Square celebrated its 125th anniversary.

As part of the Stokes Croft project MILLCIC interviewed some of the members of the centre to capture some of their thoughts about the changes to the area.

The interviews were filmed by David Ellington of VS1 Productions and interpreted by Sherrie Eugene.

We are also providing access to an earlier film created by David Ellington that contains further insights into some of the changes in the area particularly regarding variations in sign language.

This film '8 Decades of a Language' is presented in six parts.
