With thanks to Heritage Lottery Funding, Myers-Insole Local Learning are working with Creative Youth Network to explore the history of the Royal West of England Academy and some of the people that made possible this provision for the Arts in the city of Bristol.
Members of the Creative Spaces element of Creative Youth Network have been commissioned to create engaging and innovative materials, telling the story of the RWA for a younger audience.
To learn more about the history of the RWA and associated heritage, we recommend the following:
- Crane, Anthony The Walter Crane Lunettes (1995) an RWA publication
- Public View, A Profile of the Royal West of England Academy (2002) Redcliffe Press
- Know Your Place
- Bristol Museums
- Royal crest research http://englishhistoryauthors.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/royal-coat-of-arms.html
We are particularly thankful to Tristan Pollard for sharing with us his wealth of knowledge about the history of the RWA.
